How to Use your STOP IT™ - Works Better than any "Spillproof Lid"
The STOP IT™ is designed to work as simply and effectively as possible.
To install it on your tumbler, simply
Then when you want to take a drink, just grasp the flap of the STOP IT™ with your index and middle fingers to pull it up and flip it back. Once it is flipped all the way back in the open position, it will stay back out of your way until you want to close it again (we designed it carefully so that it will hold in place and will not flop back and forth except when you want it to). In short, when you put it in the open position, it should stay open until you close it. And when you put it in the closed position it should stay closed until you open it.
It really is just as simple as that.
If using your tumbler with hot beverages, make sure to read the Warning and make sure to properly Burp It before closing your STOP IT™ on your tumbler lid. For instructions and a demonstration video regarding this subject, go to our Burp It page.
A few other convenient uses of the STOP IT™
Flipping Your Lid Back
Anybody who has a YETI* tumbler knows the frustration of finding a place to set your lid down. This is part of the reason that the STOP IT is better than a spill proof lid.
You don't want to set it down side down because it might get dirt, sand, germs, or whatever inside of your tumbler when you put the lid back on. And you don't want to set it up side down because you don't want to get any dirt, sand, germs, or whatever else on the drinking spout where you are about to put your mouth.
Its a conundrum, every single time.
Well, no more...
Now, when you want to flip your lid back, just leave your STOP IT in your lid and flip your lid back with the STOP IT still attached. Then when you are finished pouring your refill, just flip the lid back into place. Or if you want to sip your drink for a while without the lid on, now problem. you can do that too by just allowing the STOP IT to hold your lid back out of the way until you are ready to put it back on top again.
The main thing to be aware of when removing or replacing the lid - while the STOP IT is still attached - is that because the STOP IT literally creates an air tight seal, the air pressure will resist you when you attempt to remove the lid and when you attempt to replace the lid. To prevent this, simply use your index finger to slightly lift the seal on the STOP IT that is located right above the vent hole so that it allows air to flow freely in and out of the vent hole during the removal and replacement of the lid. You will hear the pssst sound of the air flow through the vent hole when you remove and replace the lid this way. After you put the lid back in place, make sure that the tab on the tumbler lid is centered between the two flaps of the STOP IT so that the vent hole is completely covered and will be able to seal.
Floating
Love to hang out at the pool, the river, the lake, or the beach?
Well, because of the air tight sealing ability of the STOP IT, if your tumbler is installed correctly and is less than 3/4 full, it will float! Now you can toss a drink to a friend without worrying that it will sink if they don't catch it.
Love fly fishing and love your YETI* but have no way to enjoy both at the same time?
Well, now you can let your tumbler float right next to you in the water without worrying about it sinking or filling up with river water.
To install it on your tumbler, simply
- place it around the upper part of your YETI* tumbler
- put your regular lid on your tumbler
- then flip the flap of the STOP IT™ up and press the stopper down into the drinking spout of your lid.
