Frequently Asked Questions About the STOP IT
Q: Does the STOP IT fit RTIC or Ozark Trail lids?
A: The STOP IT does not fit RTIC tumbler lids. It was designed specifically to fit standard YETI lids. It also fits some Ozark Trail tumbler lids. However, we have found there to be a lot of variation in the size of Ozark Trail lid drinking spouts, so the STOP IT does not seal all Ozark Trail lids. If you have an Ozark Trail tumbler, the only way to be certain that the STOP IT will fit your tumbler is to replace your Ozark Trail lid with a YETI brand lid. Such replacement lids can be purchased at many stores.
Q: After I flip my lip back to pour a refill, I am having a hard time getting my lid back on because the STOP IT makes the lid air tight. How to I make this easier?
A: This is an easy one. When you are removing or replacing your lid for a refill, slightly lift the portion of your STOP IT that is above the vent hole on your lid. This will temporarily remove the air tight seal formed by the suction cup piece of the STOP IT that normally covers the vent hole. As a result, air will flow through, making it easy to remove and replace your lid quickly without difficulty. You will hear the air flow through the vent hole in the lid when you do this.

Q: I am having trouble removing the stopper from the spout. What is the best way to remove the drinking spout?
A: The primary goal of the STOP IT is to prevent spills. This makes it necessary for the stopper to stay strongly in place and not be prone to falling out by accident. As a result, if you simply pull up on your STOP IT, you are likely to pull your entire YETI lid off of your tumbler. For this reason, it is best to put the palm of your hand on the lid while pulling up on the stopper with your fingers. It is quite easy and is quickly demonstrated in the following video:
Q: Will my lid ever come off if I'm using the STOP IT?
A: We have measured the amount of internal pressure required to cause the STOP IT to release its seal and we have measured the amount of internal pressure required to cause the YETI lid to pop off. According to our tests, the STOP IT will stay sealed all the way to 4 PSI of pressure whereas the YETI lid will pop off at 0.4 PSI. Because of this, your STOP IT should stay in place at pressure level far exceeding that off your lid's ability to stay on your tumbler.
So the short answer is, yes, your tumbler lid can still pop off. We have found that when a tumbler falls off of the back of a moving pickup truck onto concrete, the lid popped off but the STOP IT stayed firmly plugged in the drinking spout. The lid can also come off if a hot hot beverage is poured into your tumbler and the STOP IT imediately closed right afterward. This will not allow the tumbler sufficient time to let the cool air purge and this issue is addressed in the next Question on this page and on the "Burp It" page of our website.

Q: Will the air tight seal allow pressure to build up if a temperature change occurs?
A: Yes, after pouring a hot beverage, place your lid on and allow cool air to purge from your tumbler by swishing it for a few seconds before closing your STOP IT. If you ever see your tumbler lid lifting, just "burp it" to release the pressure.
